Matt’s book explores the consequences of our silence as teachers, and outlines the next steps we need to take, both as educators and as a society, if we want to finally see a teacher-driven reform in education. The book covers a wide range of issues teachers face nationally in education, both in terms of perception, as well as our ability to do our jobs effectively and ethically.

As a teacher, your job includes a ton of external pressures that have almost nothing to do with the purpose of the profession.
In design thinking, we must start with empathizing with the user. If we were to ask educators who their “users” are, there would probably be a wide range of answers, but what are the implications of the answers?
Part 4: What Matters? Are we systematically teaching kids to see the world in an episodic way, or are we developing adaptive, transferable-skilled students?

Matt Daly has been teaching and coaching for over 15 years. He is an Instructional Leader, Educational Consultant, Writer, and Speaker. He holds degrees in English and Secondary Education from Providence College, an MFA in Creative Writing: Poetry, and has Supervisory Certification in Instruction. Matt lives in New Jersey with his wife, also a teacher, and his three daughters.
